Understanding the SBR Model
Our role within an organization is not only made up of our technical position, but also many interactions with a range of different people and situations. In order to achieve this, the SBR Model can be used to:
- Assess the Situation;
- Choose an appropriate Behavior;
- Obtain the desired Result;
- Then Evaluate the Result and learn from the interaction.
Individuals, in all endeavors, use this process either consciously or subconsciously. Ultimately, DISC is used to create awareness of our behaviors. It is this awareness which enables us to consider the best choice of behavior for a given situation.
