ACTIVITIES
Working with Your Team & Critical Relationships
Let’s utilize DISC to understand different team members’ preferences for communication, pace, as well as how they behave when they’re motivated or stressed. In your cluster groups, you will complete two activities that will highlight the importance of diversity in group work and help you to determine roles within the group that align with the strengths of each team member and their DISC Profile.
ACTIVITY 1 - Working Individually
A BLUEPRINT FOR WORKING WITH ME
Working independently, create your own ‘blueprint for working with me’. This is effectively a ‘cheatsheet’ for your team members to know how to work best with you. Use your DISC Profile Report to inform your answers and once prepared, share this with your cluster group.
ACTIVITY 2 - Working In your Cluster Group
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP GROUPS
Within every team high quality, productive relationships are critical. However there are also critical relationships within the wider team relationships. Every team has this type of dynamic where certain relationships between team members have to be stronger and defined by greater understanding.
After completing the first activity individually, work in your cluster group to identify critical relationship pairs that exist within your project. Use the worksheet to discuss how to build these critical relationships within your team using DISC. Share your Blueprints with each other and identify strategies you can create to develop a better understanding and be more aware of differences in DISC Styles, communication, decision making, and behavior.
Ultimately, team members need to be able to translate how this better understanding is going to be reflected in your work environment and performance.
